The FIBA ranking men’s basketball team is 73 (till 3rd March 2020) and women’s basketball team is 69 (till 12th February 2020). 1. Satnam Singh:
Satnam Singh Bhamara is the full name of Satnam Singh who born on 10th December 1995 at Baloke, Punjab, India. He is undoubtedly the huge name that gets mostly heard in India when it’s about basketball and is the first India born player who gets drafted in American Basketball League(NBA). In the year 2015, the Dallas Mavericks drafted him as the 52nd overall pick and for few years he also played in G-league. Currently, he is playing in the NBL of Canada from St. John’s Edge and people have always been a lot of expectations from the 7ft 2 inches tall man of India but unluckily he has not been able to meet that level of expectations.

2. Amjyot Singh:
The full name of Amjyot is Amjyot Singh Gill who born in Chandigarh, India on 27th January 1992 and is one of the famous players of the Indian Basketball Team who captained the Indian team in FIBA Asia cup. In 2015 he played for Hyogo Impulse in the BJ Challange Summer Leauge of Japan in which he gave a remarkable performance and the Tokyo Excellence of National Basketball Development League (NBDA) signed a one year contract with him and become the first Indian player who played in a professional basketball league outside India. He is the second Indian player to get drafted in the G-League of NBA with Oklahoma City Blue.

3. Amritpal Singh:
Amritpal Singh is the first player from the Indian Basketball Team who was signed by Sydney Kings to play in the Australian National basketball league(NBL) and was also signed by Tokyo Excellence of National Basketball Development League (NBDA) in 2015. He is born on 5th January 1991. In the South Asian Championship, he was crowned as MVP for leading the team India to the tournament title in the process.
4. Anitha Pauldurai:
Anitha Pauldurai is born on 22nd June 1985 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She got retired in 2018 and was the most consistent player of the Indian team. In 2013 she was in the list of top 10 players of FIBA Asian women’s championship and also won the gold medal on three FIBA Asian Basketball Championship Doha.

5. Geethu Anna Jose:
Geethu Anna Jose born in Kollad, Kottayam, Kerala India on 30th June 1985 and is the first women Indian basketball player who played for Australian club Ringwood Hawks. She has also captained the Indian women’s national basketball team. In 2008 because of her remarkable performance, she got a spot in Team Dandenong in the Women’s NBL (Australia’s elite professional league) but she rejected this offer due to her personal reasons.

6. Prashanti Singh:
Prashanti Singh the shooting guard of the Indian National basketball team who born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India on 5th May 1984. She is the first Indian women basketball player who received civilian award Padma Shree in 2019 and the Arjuna award in 2017. She holds the record on winning the highest number of medals in the National Championship. Her younger sister Pratima Singh is also a basketball player who got married to Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma.
